D’habitude, je ne fais jamais de marchés de Noël, mais cette année, j’ai décidé de participer à deux petits marchés locaux ayant la particularité d’être organisés par des gens que j’aime beaucoup et qui sont dans une démarche qui me parle.
Il y a d’abord eu le mini-marché de Noël organisé par le Ressourc’Eure, à Saint Georges Motel, qui est une association dont je suis membre et qui valorise le lien social et l’entraide, la sensibilisation à l’environnement et qui propose un Tiers-lieu avec café associatif et épicerie participative. J’y suis épicière bénévole régulièrement et maintenant au moins, les habitués savent pourquoi j’ai parfois (souvent…) les mains bleues lorsque je les sers!
Usually, I don’t attend Chritsmas markets but this year, I decided to participate in two small local markets organised by people that I like and who are involved in projects that make sense for me.
First, there was a mini-market by a local association whose goal is to promote social interactions, environmental protection and mutual assistance on a local scale. It has a so-called « third place » with a café and a grocery store. As a member, I regularly volunteer at the store and now the people who are regulars understand why I sometimes (often…) have blue hands when I’m serving them!
Ensuite, ce fut le tour du marché de Noël de la Ferme des Gâtines Rouges, à la Chaussée d’Ivry, sous le magnifique hangar/bergerie. Cette ferme a une très belle histoire que vous pouvez lire ici. Tant d’hectares gagnés sur l’agriculture tueuse de sols, ça fait rêver!
L’ambiance fut fantastique, le public nombreux et je pense qu’exposants comme visiteurs ont été heureux de vivre cette journée festive et locale!
Next there was a Christmas market at the Ferme des Gâtines Rouges nearby, under their beautiful storage shed and sheep pen. This farm has a great history: the owners inherited the big estate and the soil of the 80+ hectares were dead after years of modern agriculture. So they decided to do everything to make the land alive again, planting hedges and welcoming sustainable and organic farming practices. The atmosphere was fantastic, there were many visitors and I think that exhibitors and visitors alike have been really happy to attend this festive and local event!
Cette année, j’ai pu prendre le temps de rencontrer de belles personnes autour de moi qui s’impliquent au niveau local. Au moins un aspect positif de cette épidémie! D’habitude, je suis souvent sur des évènements loin de chez moi et je suis très heureuse d’avoir pu voir de plus près tous les projets qui se sont mis à bourgeonner dans mon coin de campagne… Car les initiatives locales, c’est super important, c’est là qu’on peut vraiment changer les choses à mon avis!
This year I have been able to meet beautiful people involved in local projects around me. At least there is one positive side of the epidemic! Usually I’m too busy on events far away from home and I’m very happy that I could look into all these initiatives that have been blooming in my rural territory… Because local initiatives are very important, it’s where you can really make changes I think!
