Le Snartemo V est fini! – Snartemo V is finished!

J’ai enfin fini l’infernal Snartemo… Finalement, j’ai refait le motif 3 fois, sans trop me poser de questions par rapport aux transitions (pour la prochaine fois, je vais travailler sur le diagramme de tissage pour faire un motif de transition plus harmonieux).

I finished the « infernal » Snartemo at last… I repeated the pattern succession 3 times without asking myself too many questions about the transitions.

Si je fais le bilan, je dois dire que la technique en elle-même n’est pas très compliquée, puisqu’on a 4 couleurs qui se suivent (on repère donc très vite les erreurs!). La principale difficulté réside à mon sens dans le grand nombre de tablettes et donc de fils (192 fils dans ce motif) à garder tendus. J’ai eu quelques fils rebelles qui n’arrêtaient pas de se détendre ainsi que 3 qui ont cassé en cours de route… le mérinos, c’est super comme laine, mais c’est très fin et très élastique! Le diagramme en lui-même est assez facile à suivre tout compte fait, c’est juste trèèèèèès long. Au final, une très belle expérience de tissage et un résultat satisfaisant (avec encore quelques « boulettes », mais je ferais mieux la prochaine fois!). Le galon fini fait 170cm.

If I had to find a conclusion, I have to say that the technique itself is not that complicated because of the 4 colors (you see the mistakes really quickly). What is difficult when you’re not used to it is the bigger number of tablets and therefore the large number of threads to keep at a good tension. I had a few rebellious threads that kept getting slack and 3 of them broke… Merino wool is a great yarn but it’s also fine and elastic! The pattern itself is easy to follow after all, it’s just very time-consuming weaving. A very beautiful experience to weave that band and a satisfying result (still a few flaws, I’ll do better next time!). The finished band is 170cm long.

Et pour ceux qui voudraient se lancer, voilà le diagramme en PDF. Il y a quelques petites erreurs de couleur qu’on voit une fois qu’on a bien compris le truc, saurez-vous les trouver? (on les repère souvent en tissant) sinon, demandez-moi! 😉
